Is it possible to fix a sliced Bike Tyre?
Was out cycling last week and went over someting sharp and it busted the tube and created a hole in the tyre. I have fixed the puncture. But is there anyway to fix the slice in the tyre, maybe fill it in with something? Tried glue but no use. Put a patch inside the tyre to save anything hitting the tube. Don’t fancy buying a new tyre. Any help would be great. Thanks.
you can try but usually it either causes cuts in the tube, or it doesn;t last long
that fix is called a ‘boot’
try the following: [over the hole]
cut a piece of another tire out
a dollar bill
tyvek [piece of fedex envelope]
the tube will hold these in place
no need for glue etc
